The University of New Haven and Seton Art Gallery present Painters’ Projects, an exhibition of new paintings and related projects by three artists: Suzanne Chamlin, Julia Coash and Maria Creyts. This free exhibition is open to the public. Read more about the artists.
Edge of the Woods Natural Market Founder Kicks Off Friends of the Library Fall Program:
September 20
Peter Dodge, founder of Edge of the Woods Natural Market in New Haven, will kick off the Friends of the UNH Library Fall 2007 Program on Thursday, September 20 at 2:30 p.m., when he presents "Serving the Underserved in Haiti." This talk supplements the Common Read 2007 program selection of "Mountains Beyond Mountains." The Common Read program includes all incoming freshmen and anyone else in the UNH community who is interested.

President’s Reception for Memory & Legacy:
An Exhibit Telling the Story of the New Haven Holocaust Memorial: October 10
President Steven H. Kaplan cordially invites you to attend the President’s Reception for the on-campus exhibit of Memory & Legacy: An Exhibit Telling the Story of the New Haven Memorial, Wednesday, October 10 at 4 p.m. in Dodds Hall. This free exhibit, which is open to the public, will be on display at UNH from October 1-November 15 in Dodds Hall. At the reception, you will hear UNH alumnus and Holocaust survivor Martin Schiller '64 B.S. speak about his experience. Click here for more information.

Alumni Baseball and Women's Volleyball Games:
Saturday, October 20, 2007
The annual Alumni baseball and women’s volleyball games will be held on Saturday, October 20, at Vieira Field and Charger Gymnasium, respectively. Both events are slated for 11 a.m. Following the baseball game, join alumni, family and friends for a cookout at Vieira Field. Price, which includes food and beverages, is $15 for a single person and $25 per family. If interested in attending the cookout, please contact head baseball coach Raphael Cerrato at rcerrato@newhaven.edu or (203) 932-7468. Women’s volleyball alumni interested in participating in Saturday’s match should contact women’s volleyball coach Robin Salters at rsalters@newhaven.edu or (203) 932-7022.
University of New Haven Theatre Offers New England Premiere of columbinus: November 7-11, 2007
The UNH Theatre Program presents the New England premiere of columbinus, a play sparked by the April 1999 massacre at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. columbinus probes the psychological warfare of alienation, hostility, and social pressure that goes on in high schools across America. Students Return to Completed Construction, New Programs
A turf field behind New Hall, a challenging new experience for incoming students, and a concentration in International Justice and Security are just some of the changes that UNH President Steven Kaplan notes have taken place over the summer. Perhaps the most visible change is the ongoing construction of the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center on Boston Post Road, Dr. Kaplan says. Read more about what happened on campus over the summer.
Four Students Provide Dental Care for Honduran Orphans As Part of University of New Haven Program
Four UNH dental hygiene students provided dental education and care to forty orphaned children during a summer global service-learning internship in Roatan, Honduras. Read more about the services these four students provided during their four days in Roatan.
Forget the U-Haul, Twelve UNH Freshmen Are Taking Off: First-Year Semester Abroad a First in Connecticut Higher Education
Twelve incoming freshmen are spending their first semester studying at Roehampton University in England this fall as part of UNH's new Freshman Study Abroad initiative. UNH's program is believed to be the first of its kind in Connecticut. Read more about the program.
UNH Exploring Division I;
Focus to Bring Back Football
This past summer, the University announced its intent to explore division reclassification in addition to reinstituting football. President Steven Kaplan assembled an Athletic Conference Task Force that gathered information on how a move from Division II to Division I would affect the University. The decision to submit an application to the NCAA to explore division reclassification was passed unanimously by the Task Force. Read more about UNH’s announcement in the New Haven Register.
UNH Receives Front-Page Coverage in the Hartford Courant
Dr. Roman Zajac, Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Environmental Science, and his students are conducting research to understand why marshes are dying. The research is being done on marshland donated by UNH alumnus Peter Banca ’87 E.M.B.A. Read more about Dr. Zajac’s research in the Hartford Courant.

17th Annual Charger Classic
Presented by Petra Construction Corp.: June 11
A full complement of golfers hit the links at Woodbridge Country Club June 11 and enjoyed a day of golf at the 17th Annual Chargers Golf Classic. Non-golfers learn how to rejuvenate mind, body and soul. At the end of the day, everyone enjoyed dinner followed by an auction complete with vacation packages, sports memorabilia, tickets to sporting events and more. Inaugural Alumni Weekend: June 8-11
More than 250 alumni attended the inaugural UNH Alumni Weekend, June 8-11, 2007. Festivities included alumni receptions, campus tours, a barbecue, golf tournament and fireworks. Mark your calendar for next year's alumni weekend, scheduled for June 6-8, 2008.

839 Graduates Join UNH Alumni Family
On Saturday, May 26, the UNH Alumni Association welcomed 839 new members to its family of more than 40,000 alumni. Honorary doctoral degrees were awarded to Joseph J. Grano, Jr., chairman and CEO of Centurion Holdings LLC, Roxanne Coady, founder of R.J. Julia Booksellers, and James A. Amann, Speaker of the State House of Representatives.
