For Students

The 85th Annual Commencement will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Ralph F. DellaCamera  Stadium, located at the University's North Campus. It will last approximately two-and-a-half hours and will be held, rain or shine.

• Beginning May 5, 2008, graduation announcements will be available at the University Police Department office, Main Campus, Monday through Friday, without charge. Southeastern campus students may pick up their announcements at the New London office.
  
  
• If you plan to attend the Commencement ceremony, you must wear the appropriate academic attire, which is available through the Campus Bookstore. Click here for information.
  
  
• You will receive a packet of information from the Provost's Office asking you to RSVP to the Commencement ceremony by April 21, 2008.
  
  
• Please arrive by 9 a.m. and proceed to the Charger Gymnasium.
  
  
• Stop at the registration desk, located in the lobby of the Charger Gymnasium, for the identification card that you will later hand to the reader when you are in line for your diploma.
  
  
• Bachelor's degree recipients will assemble in the gymnasium.
  
  
• Master's degree recipients will assemble in the lower level of the Charger Gymnasium.
  
  
• No rehearsal will be held. Instructions will be provided in the Charger Gymnasium. 
  
  
• Graduates will be seated by college.
  
  
• The procession will leave from the Charger Gymnasium for Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium at 9:45 a.m.
   
• A faculty marshal will lead each of the two lines that form the procession. Any questions may be directed to the faculty marshal.
  
  
• Please dress appropriately for the weather. There is no tent covering Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium to provide protection from the weather.
  
  
  • Wear shoes with low or no heels.
  • Bring suncreen.
  • Complimentary water bottles will be placed under each graduate's seat.
  • In the event of rain, umbrellas will be provided to graduates at the Charger Gymnasium.
    
    
• Purses are not to be carried and will present a security problem if left in the Charger Gymnasium. Please leave all of your personal effects with your family or friends.
