Fried-who has worked on notorious cases including a stampede following the Michigan v. Wisconsin football game where 77 people were hospitalized-points out that there are many issues of concern relating to crowd control and safety, making it a necessity for facility managers to spend a significant amount of time and energy preparing facilities and staffs to make each event as safe as possible.

Where:            Marvin K. Peterson Library, Third Floor, UNH campus.

In addition to chairing the management department, Fried is an associate professor of sports management.  He was trained as an attorney and has served as an expert witness in some of the most notorious sports crowd cases over the past 20 years.  He has written five textbooks and numerous industry and journal articles.  Fried regularly speaks across the country and is currently running a Professional Enrichment Program (PEP) at UNH to certify students as trained crowd managers.
