West Haven, Conn., March 22, 2007 - Kristen Sullivan, a senior marketing major in the College of Business at the University of New Haven (UNH) was recognized by the American Marketing Association (AMA) of Connecticut as a rising star of the marketing community and for her exceptional achievement as a student marketer during the organization's 9th Annual Mark of Excellence Awards ceremony on March 21, 2007 at the Hartford Club in Hartford, Conn.
Sullivan was named the 2007 Student Marketer of the Year also for her exemplary leadership as president of the UNH-AMA the student chapter of the American Marketing Association at UNH. As president of the UNH-AMA, she led efforts to attract major sponsors and speakers to the University and took the lead in organizing events such as the "Careers in Marketing" event of April 2006.
The American Marketing Association of Connecticut presents the Marketer of the Year Award each year to the person or organization recognized as an example of excellence in marketing within the chapter area. It is the AMA's tradition to celebrate the excellence of Connecticut's top marketers by awarding students, individuals, and organizations as a means of strengthening and building upon Connecticut's marketing community.
