The University of New Haven (UNH) will host the 10th Annual International Colloquium on Intelligence featuring Dr. Magnus Ranstorp, one of Europe's leading experts on international terrorism. The focus of the 2008 Colloquium is "The Role of Research in Intelligence Studies." As keynote speaker, Ranstorp will present "Mapping Terrorism Research: State of Art, Gaps and Future Direction." The Colloquium on Intelligence enables intelligence professionals to gain additional knowledge of the latest issues on intelligence from key practitioners and international scholars and is sponsored by the U.S. Army War College's International Association for Intelligence, and Proteus U.S.A.

Dr. Magnus Ranstorp is the research director of the Centre for Asymmetric Threat Studies at the Swedish National Defence College and a senior honorary research associate and former director of Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He is internationally recognized as a leading expert on Hezbollah, Hamas, al-Qaeda and other militant Islamic movements. He has conducted extensive field work around the world, interviewing hundreds of terrorists as well as members of militant Islamic movements.
