West Haven, CT, May 29, 2008- The University of New Haven (UNH) student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has received the Superior Merit Award for the 2007-2008 year. The UNH chapter was recognized among 400 SHRM student chapters nationwide for sharing critical information and teaching job training within the state of Connecticut.  

Over the past year, the UNH student chapter has developed programs and invited guest speakers to discuss careers in human resources and professional development. The chapter also collaborated with local nonprofits such as ConnCan and Leadership, Education, and Athletics in Partnership (part of Americorps) to help high school students prepare for job interviews and hone their job skills.
