As part of the University of New Haven's increased community involvement in the city of West Haven, 16 students and Dr. Charles Vigue met at Sandy Point Saturday, March 29, to pick up trash and beautify the beach. The Undergraduate Student Association coordinated the event, which was covered by the New Haven Register. Click here to read the story. In addition, 11 UNH students worked with the West Haven Beautification Committee Sunday, April 27 to clear flower beds and pick up litter on the town green, clean out flower pots and prepare spring beds for planting. The volunteers will return to help the committee plant wave petunias, its signature flower, on the green, in front of city hall, and in planters running along Campbell Avenue.
