For International Students

Welcome to the University of New Haven and to the Marvin K Peterson Library.  This handout gives you an overview of library resources and services available to you as a student here.  Please do not hesitate to ask library staff if you have any questions.

Additional assistance is available at the Information and Circulation Desks in the Library, in our Library Guides near the Information Desk or on our home page. The Library home page has links to our online catalog to search for books, to the Journals catalog, to databases, to general information such as hours and contacts, and to the Library Guides online.  Our web address is http://library.newhaven.edu/.  

When you register as a student, you get a UNH ID card from the Information Technology Department.  This card allows you to borrow library materials (books, videos) and to use other services and resources, such as web access to our subscription databases from any Internet terminal, and more.  Your ID number is the 16 digit number on your card.

When you enter the Library, you see two desks: the Circulation Desk immediately to your left, and the Information Desk opposite it.
