Our catalog uses the Library of Congress (LC) classification system and subject headings. LC assigns call numbers (letters and numbers) according to the book's primary subject.

Examples of some subject headings you might use in your search:

  • Chemical engineering

  • Civil engineering

  • Computer engineering

  • Electric engineering

  • Industrial engineering

  • Mechanical engineering

Or choose another topic related to engineering:

  • Corrosion and anti-corrosives

  • Fluid dynamics

  • Optical fiber detectors

  • Polymers

  • Welded steel structures

Choose the type of search you want by selecting from among the many options offered: keyword, subject, author, title, etc. Place the cursor in the find this box and type in the words you want to search.

?Look for search tips at the bottom of the catalog search page. For more detailed search strategies, consult our guide on Using the UNH Library Catalog.
