Who We Are

As Director of the Career Services Center for the University of New Haven, Kathy provides individual assistance with students and alumni on their resumes, cover letters and job searches. She conducts workshops on resumes, interviewing skills, technology, networking techniques, and facilitates employer recruitment of students and alumni by identifying, locating, and referring eligible individuals for job placement. Kathy promotes the Career Services Center by making presentations to clubs, classes, student residence halls, and parents. She also assists in the collection, tabulation, and analysis of outcome information. Kathy supervises and trains graduate assistants and other student staff. She is a valuable member of the Experiential Education team and is an architect of the Coaching Program at UNH.

Kathy taught two semester sessions of Freshman Experience class that met weekly to help freshman adapt to college life. Kathy also was a presenter for NSEE at their conference held at Disney, September 2008 on the UNH Mentor Match program. Kathy has been working on the Coaching Program since its debut in 2006.

Kathy's previous employment included being the Office Manager for Cheney & Company, a public relations and marketing firm in New Haven. While there, she supported the president and her staff in all administrative functions, including arranging travel plans, organizing exhibits, and coordinating conference participation and promotional mailings. Kathy also worked for the American Cancer Society in the past, where she was responsible for team registration, documentation, and other related duties for three Relay events. While at ACS, Kathy created and maintained a highly effective volunteer workforce of over 30 people. She provided leadership in the development of an information support staff system, which resulted in the application of improved income development.
