(11-02-09) WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven quarterback, Ryan Osiecki, was named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season after leading UNH to a 47-43 come-from-behind win over Saint Anselm on Saturday. The Chargers finish the NE-10 portion of their season with a 4-4 record.
Osiecki helped march the Chargers down the field in the final minutes on a game-winning drive, including a 32-yard touchdown pass to give New Haven the final lead of the game. He finished the afternoon with 362 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions on 25-of-40 passing. Osiecki was sacked just twice and threw a game-long 54-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Osiecki currently leads the NE-10 in total passing yards with 2697 yards, for a league high 291.9 average yards per game.
Osiecki and the rest of the Chargers will wrap up 2009 with a home game against Ohio Dominican this Saturday, Nov. 7. Kickoff is set for noon at DellaCamera Stadium.
