(10-19-09) SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - University of New Haven women's soccer student-athlete Lucy Francisco has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 18. The announcement was made by the conference office earlier today.
Francisco helped lead the Chargers to back-to-back wins last week, including a 3-2 double overtime victory over St. Anselm on Saturday. The Chargers also defeated Pace 5-0 early in the week. Francisco scored the Chargers opening goal on Saturday and added the game-winner in the 109th minute of double overtime. The freshman also handed out an assist on the Chargers second goal of the game. This season she's tallied six goals and four assists.
Sophomore Alexa DellaRocco earned NE-10 Honor Roll honors this week as well for the three-goal week.
The Chargers return to action on Tuesday, October 20 when they travel to Adelphi University for a 6 p.m. match.
