The first three SOAR sessions have definitely set the bar high. As an Orientation Leader, I have very high expectations for the next 3 groups of incoming students!
Here is my recap of the first SOAR:
Day one was a little less than fun to play outside because of the extreme amounts of rain in the North East. It was doable though… we made do with the indoor space provided. The OL skits were extremely funny as usual. We always outdo ourselves! The food was amazing! And everyone seemed to enjoy the very busy day. As for the night activities, everyone loved comedian Joe Matarese (so funny)! The other activities went well too.
Day two started out cloudy, but ended up being a gorgeous day! The special surprise at the end of the day was a hit! It is definitely a great way to end the SOAR Experience! Incoming students exited with the Orientation staff at their highest energy level (saying goodbye was really tough)!
I hope everyone enjoyed the first SOAR, and if you haven’t come yet I will see you soon!!!!

I had an awesome weekend This past weekend was spring weekend at UNH and the festivities included the spring concert the carnival the comedian and the movie Unfortunately I was on duty since I am an RA so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the weekend but my staff and I sure did make every effort to have our own fun We had everything we could’ve needed for almost 9 hours of duty (games, food, food, food, computers, so on)
Some quick updates about me I am receiving an award this Wednesday but I wont know what it is for until then I was elected as a Senator for USGA 2009- 2010 I will be living here the summer
Did you sign up for SOAR yet I might be your Orientation Leader- woot SOAR is a blast and it is really your first opportunity to make friends at UNH You do everything from staying over night to registering for classes to idk having an awesome time
I think that is all for now
peace
I have felt like it has been the final stretch of the semester for a little while now, and that feeling is getting quite annoying! I am so excited for the summer!
I found out yesterday that I was elected as a Senator of USGA…. so excited! Last night was Fire Science Banquet and that was so much fun. I had a blast! I have a couple of plans for the summer: I reapplied for an Orientation Leader position, I applied for a summer RA position, and I voiced that I was interested in being on staff in the Office of Residential Life during the summer. No matter what the outcome is, I will be staying over the summer months.
The weather has been so nice lately. With each day that passes I find myself itching for summer to get here... it is almost frustrating.
Well that is all for now.
Happy wishful thinking!
